"Liminal Harmony": An Artistic Fusion in Real Time
“Liminal Harmony” emerges from a unique interdisciplinary collaboration between visual artist Karen Hendrickx, sound artists Peter Geysels and Peter De Koning, and dancer Justine Copette.
At its core, the performance is a living, ever-shifting dialogue among the artists. Through fluid improvisation, they move from four distinct voices into a single shared entity. On stage, emotions, memories, gestures, sounds, and images are exchanged and woven together, creating a fragile yet vibrant tapestry.
A central motif is the dancer’s white costume, which slowly transforms as it is painted over during the performance. In this metamorphosis, the dancer herself becomes part of the artwork, dissolving the boundaries between body, canvas, and sound. By the end, distinctions vanish: artist and artwork, dancer and painter, movement and music merge into one.
“Liminal Harmony” invites the audience into an immersive space of symbiosis, where everything converges and separation gives way to unity.
