In 2025, I embarked on a new research project exploring the relationship between images and music. I had long felt that the inner energy that informs my work resonates strongly with the energy of music, sharing a similar rhythm, intensity and layering. This intuitive affinity prompted me to conduct a deeper investigation, ultimately leading me to the phenomenon of graphic scores.
Although my works have a strong rhythm, they are not primarily intended to be set to music or performed literally. They are not scores in the classical sense. To me, they are autonomous drawings first and foremost – images that arise from physical, spontaneous movement. They function more as an invitation to sound than as an instruction. With this series, I aim to explore how far I can deviate from the conventional form of a score while retaining a sense of musicality. It is a search for the boundary between the visual and the musical – a space where intuition, movement and rhythm converge on paper.
